Close collaboration between Radware and NetLogic Microsystems delivers best-in-class, highly differentiated deep-packet inspection (DPI) technologies to protect next-generation data centers
NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. [NASDAQ: NETL], the leader in the design and development of knowledge-based processors and high-speed integrated circuits, and Radware [NASDAQ: RDWR], the leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced that Radware has selected NetLogic Microsystems’ NETL7™ Layer 7 knowledge-based processors for its new line of DefensePro network security solutions, which deliver superior performance to protect next-generation data centers against emerging network attacks.
Based on the OnDemand Switch platform series, Radware’s new DefensePro products provide best-in-class protection against sophisticated cyber attacks targeting enterprises that rely on data centers for productivity and revenue generation. The increasing shift of cybercrime attacks from individual end-users to large data centers has led to an increased need for advanced security solutions that can protect complex data center networks and service applications in real-time and at wire-speed. Radware’s DefensePro network security solutions deliver real-time intrusion prevention system (IPS) and Denial of Service (DoS) protection, as well as unique behavioral-based technology that prevents zero-minute and non-vulnerability-based threats at wire speeds of over 12Gbps, while reducing the total cost of ownership for data center managers.
Radware has collaborated with NetLogic Microsystems to use NetLogic Microsystems’ industry-leading NETL7 knowledge-based processors to accelerate deep-packet inspection (DPI) and enhance the wire-speed performance of Radware’s DefensePro systems. The NETL7 processor family comprises highly scalable solutions that provide real-time, uncompromised inspection performance from 250Mbps to 20Gbps with a common set of APIs and software development kit (SDK). By inspecting every bit in every packet against every security threat signature at wire-speed, the NETL7 processors enable comprehensive, best-in-class security solutions for next-generation data center, enterprise, service provider and small/midsize business networks.
NetLogic Microsystems’ NETL7 processors feature the Intelligent Finite Automaton (IFA) technology which delivers significant performance, power and cost advantages, and natively performs stateful cross-packet inspection in hardware. In addition, the NETL7 processors integrate on-chip memory to provide over 100 Terabits per second (Tbps) of ultra-low latency access bandwidth to on-chip rule databases, allowing the processors to accelerate complex and iterative content inspection while eliminating the need to provision for the high-latency and costly off-chip memory that are required by competing solutions.
“We have been impressed with the superior performance, quality and ease-of-integration of NetLogic Microsystems’ NETL7 processors and SDK which have enabled us to get to market much sooner and with a more robust product,” said Avi Chesla, vice president of security, Radware. “By offering our comprehensive, high-performance network security product line that integrates NetLogic Microsystems’ industry-leading hardware accelerators, our new line of DefensePro IPS products provide customers with unparalleled performance and scalability for data center security protection.”
“We are excited to have been selected by Radware for their new line of DefensePro network security products,” said Mike Ichiriu, senior director of Layer 7 products at NetLogic Microsystems. “DefensePro solutions are driving advanced security performance, functionality and services to new levels in next-generation data centers, and we’re glad to be delivering innovative processors into these advanced security systems.”
