Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR) the leading provider of Intelligent Application Switching (IAS) solutions ensuring the availability, performance and security of networked applications across the enterprise announced today that it has joined ICSA Lab's Network Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) Product Developers (NIPD) consortium. ICSA Labs is an independent division of Cybertrust Inc., and is the global leader in information security product certification. The new NIPD consortium includes an impressive set of market-leading charter members and will greatly benefit the IPS user community by working to develop a standard set of functional and assurance criteria for certifying network intrusion prevention technology.
The primary goals of the consortium will be to educate end users about Network IPS products and their role in a layered network security defense, increase the adoption of Network IPS technology and create publicly vetted, objective, and credible security criteria against which Network IPS products can be tested and certified.
"Radware is pleased to have joined the NIPD consortium to help objectively define the future of Intrusion Prevention technology," said Amir Peles, Chief Technology Officer at Radware. "As demand for IPS solutions increase, and customer needs continue to change, the consortium will help educate end-users, while providing potential enterprise and carrier customers with credible third party information on Intrusion Prevention Systems."
"The NIPD consortium is comprised of IPS product developers that lead the market in the design, production, innovation, and selling of Network IPS technology. They will work collaboratively to develop a wide variety of materials, certification testing criteria and documentation that will help customers gain a better understanding of the technology today and into the future," said George Japak, vice president of ICSA Labs.
