MAHWAH, NJ January 5, 2005 02:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ; RDWR) the leading provider of Intelligent Application Switching (IAS) solutions ensuring the availability, performance and security of networked applications across the enterprise announced that the Gaming platform of SINA Corporation (NASDAQ: SINA) has deployed Radware's DefensePro to ensure real time Denial of Service Protection for continuous high speed and secure online game services for clients.

With 115.5 million registered users worldwide, SINA has become the most recognized Internet brand name in China and among global Chinese customers. SINA, which offers online gaming services to over 100,000 concurrent users with twelve online data centers, was looking for a solution that would optimize and secure their network at high throughput speeds.

"After testing and reviewing several application security solutions, Radware's DefensePro proved the strongest in ensuring real time Denial of Service Protection at high speed," said Curt Kim, Chief Engineer, SINA Game. "We were also impressed with Radware's Security Update Service which delivers immediate and ongoing security filter updates to safeguard our applications, network and users."

Featuring attack monitoring and isolation, DefensePro continuously monitors security threats across layers 2-7 on SINA's online game servers for full visibility of attack. By dynamically controlling bandwidth, DefensePro proactively isolates attacks, preventing spread to users and applications while ensuring complete continuity of all unaffected and secure mission critical applications.

With implementation assistance provided by Radware business Partner Timerwell, one of the China's fastest growing distributors of networking and communications products, SINA game was able to identify and block debilitating Denial of Service attacks to protect their network from service failures and downtime. Remond Lu, Chairman of Timerwell stated, "Coupling multi-gigabit throughput speeds with an advanced sampling algorithm, Radware DefensePro's DoS protection detects abnormal service requests and blocks DoS attacks before they can undermine SINA's network operations. It was the optimal solution for their needs"

"Radware DefensePro blocks worms, viruses and DoS attacks at multi-Gigabit speeds," said Terence Ying, Managing Director, Radware Greater China Region. "With our Application Security solution , SINA Game protects customers, while maintaining optimized performance."
