Radware’s Web Server Director Pro ™ (WSD-Pro) today received Network Computing magazine’s Editor’s Choice award for its outstanding load balancing and redundancy features. Upon evaluating some of the industry’s leading load balancers the publication reported that the "WSD Pro is without a doubt the most refined hardware load balancer we tested."
"This new award reaffirms our undisputed position as the industry’s leading developer of load balancing systems," commented Roy Zisapel, president of Radware Ltd. The company has already won all the load balancer awards this year for its WSD product line.
The seven contenders - including Foundry Networks’ ServerIron, HydraWeb Technologies’ Hydra5000, F5 Lab’s BIG/ip3 and Resonate Central’s Dispatch - provided redundant setups to enable full evaluation of every aspect of the load balancers’ operation to be carried out by Network Computing’s University of Wisconsin-Madison Real-World Labsð.
Radware’s WSD-Pro received full marks for its comprehensive and intuitive configuration and management tools, surpassing all other systems when its redundancy features were put to the test. "No other load balancer even came close to WSD-Pro’s management and configuration abilities, " reported the magazine. "It was the only contender we tested that was capable of load-balancing itself by acting as both a primary and secondary (or hot spare) load balancer when more than one Web cluster was being serviced."
Network Computing further applauded WSD-Pro for its extensive and informative set of real-time monitoring tools, and noted: "There’s no limit to the number of servers you can monitor, allowing network administrators quick access to all available statistics. The WSD-Pro also supports multiple networks via two or four Fast Ethernet ports - unmatched in this market. Virtual servers also can be monitored to determine aggregate server load and usage."
