Broadvoice selects Radware's Security Appliance to Help Protect its Voice Network

Radware® Ltd. (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, announced that Broadvoice, a provider of VoIP for business and residential customers in the U.S. and Canada has selected Radware’s Attack Mitigation System, (AMS) powered by DefensePro®, a real-time, attack mitigation device to help protect its voice network from distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Broadvoice understood the level of disruption that a DDoS attack could cause on a telecommunications business. The Los Angeles based company took a proactive stance against the threat of potential attacks and after evaluating several other security solutions, Broadvoice selected DefensePro for its high degree in detection and a low false-positive rate. DefensePro is a core part of Radware's next generation AMS.

DefensePro provides protection against DDoS attacks, Internet pipe saturation, attacks on login pages, SSL-based flood attacks as well as known and emerging network security threats. Radware's AMS is a real-time network and application security solution that protects the application infrastructure against network and application downtime, application vulnerability exploitation, malware spread, information theft, web service attacks and web defacement.

Broadvoice deployed DefensePro inline between their edge and core routers which inspects all data coming from the internet into their datacenter.

Shortly after launching a very large and expensive marketing campaign, Broadvoice experienced several cyber-attacks against their network and web infrastructure.

“We quickly switched on our mitigation and it immediately halted the attack, preserving the marketing investment of our campaign,” says Ryan Delgrosso, chief technology officer of Broadvoice. “Without DefensePro alerting us that we were under attack and effectively mitigating it, our campaign would have fallen flat.”

Having reduced customer impact from other attacks, Broadvoice has gained the confidence in knowing it can protect their network and provide disruption-free service to its customers in the event of a DDoS attack.
